Central Care Cancer Center is hiring an individual to assist in the community pharmacy full-time for our upcoming Kansas City, KS location.
The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with the Pharmacist in prescription processing and dispensing. Candidates must have excellent communication, organization and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Candidates should demonstrate good judgement as well as attention to detail while working well with a team.
- Assist with prescription dispensing
- Handle patient prescriptions
- Work closely with medical oncology providers
- Provide patient care by assisting patients with prescription needs
- Review charts
- Obtain insurance and prior authorizations
- Communicate with insurance companies and billing staff
- Commitment to following all policies and procedures of the pharmacy
- Other medical office duties as assigned
Pharmacy technician certification preferred
- Minimum 1 - 2 years' Pharmacy experience preferred
- Oncology related experience a plus
- Computer skills
- Proficient with EMR systems
- Qualified to participate in Federal Health Programs, including Medicare/Medicaid
- Must be a team player with positive communication skills
