Radiation Oncology RN

Central Care Cancer Center is hiring for an individual to join our oncology team in Kansas City, KS. Our radiation team is looking for a full time RN to provide nursing care to cancer patients receiving radiation treatment. This position will work closely with the radiation staff and radiation oncologist. 

Essential Functions

  • Monitors and records vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate
  • Gives patients medications as directed by the physician
  • Assist Physician during follow-ups and new consults
  • Provides special care to the skin of patients before and after radiation treatments
  • Organizes and carries out a treatment plan for patients’ care
  • Completes nursing progress notes
  • Charts all patient transactions, phone calls, prescription refills etc.
  • Serves as intermediary for communication between patient and family as well as between patient and physician
  • Instructs the patient and family on in home care

Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.N.) from four-year college or university; or Associate's degree (A.D.N.); or has completed a nursing program. 
  • Registered Nurse
  • 2+ years RN experience preferred
  • Oncology Experience preferred
