When to Call Your Doctor?

WHEN TO CALL YOUR DOCTOR

Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Shaking chills or fever of 100.5 degrees F or higher
  • Unusual bleeding, easy bruising or pinpoint red spots on your skin
  • Vomiting that is severe or that lasts several hours
  • Painful or frequent urination or blood in your urine
  • Decreased urination or not being able to urinate
  • Diarrhea that causes an additional four bowel movements a day, diarrhea that lasts more than one day, diarrhea at night or diarrhea with fever, cramps or bloody stools
  • Constipation that lasts more than two to three days or constipation with abdominal pain or bloating
  • Pain in the arms or legs, sudden shortness of breath, paralysis or drooping on one side of the body or face
  • Severe pain, blisters or swelling in the hands or feet that prevents normal activity
  • Severe rash with itching, shortness of breath or swollen tongue or lips
  • Severe fluid retention that causes sudden weight gain or swelling in the abdomen, hands or feet
  • Irregular or rapid heartbeat, chest pain, chest tightness or shortness of breath
  • Dizziness or feeling lightheaded
  • Seizures or fainting
  • Inability to eat or weight loss
  • Depression or suicidal thoughts
