Cancer Foundations

There are several foundations in our communities that give back to our patients by offering support, making blankets or hats, or donating snacks and drinks for our patients to enjoy during their treatments. We are so thankful for each one of the foundations for cancer care in Missouri and Kansas. The work they do for our patients and community is priceless.

JUNE BUG FOUNDATION

The June Bug Cancer Foundation helps ease the burden of cancer so local patients can focus on their treatment and health.

The June Bug Cancer Foundation was established by employees of Central Care Cancer Center in Emporia, Kansas back in 2007 in honor of patient June Monnard Sauder, known as “June Bug”. The fund is used to help ease the financial burden of local cancer patients, by helping pay for some costs including home expenses, transportation, lodgeing, food and acquisition of medical equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers. No money is given directly to the patient. If approved, the bill will be paid directly to the vendor. All applications received are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Money is raised through donations, fundraising events, and memorials. Approximately $50,000 has assisted patients with various expenses over the years.

To be considered, mail completed application to: Central Care Cancer Center, June Bug Foundation, 1401 West 12th Avenue, Emporia, KS 66801.

The June Bug Cancer Foundation is a non-endowed, non-profit 501c3 organization under The Emporia Community Foundation.

For more information, call Central Care Cancer Center in Emporia at (620) 342-1117.
