Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CT/PET-CT)
Central Care Cancer Center is looking to hire a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Great Bend, KS. This role is responsible for performing diagnostic CT and PET-CT scans, while ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, exercise good judgment and work well in a collaborative team environment.
Essential Functions
- Accurately identify patients, explain the procedure and prepares them appropriately.
- Follow all safety procedures to protect patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Independently performs medical imaging procedures as needed as prescribed by physician.
- Performs daily quality assurance (QA) checks on imaging equipment.
- Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceutical materials under physician supervision.
- Monitor the patient during and after procedures for any adverse reactions and follow proper protocols.
- Positions and immobilize patients using support devices and imaging protocols.
- Educate patients on radiation safety, home preparation, and post-procedure care.
- Properly record detailed documentation of procedures in EMR.
- Perform PET/CT imaging and related billing procedures.
- Assists with therapy planning CT scans as needed.
- Schedule imaging exams and manage appointments.
- Orders radiopharmaceutical doses and maintain supply inventory.
Job Experience
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equal years of experience.
- Previous experience with PET/CT equipment and procedures is preferred.
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB or
- ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or eligible upon hire.
- Valid Kansas license (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Basic Life Support – BLS required within 90 days of hire.
