Scribe/Medical Assistant – Bolivar, MO

Central Care Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Medical Oncology Scribe to join our team at our Bolivar, MO clinic. This position will work closely with our medical oncologists and clinical staff, by accompanying providers during each patient encounter to document medical notes. 

The primary responsibility of the scribe is to ensure thorough and accurate documentation of patient visits, including medical history, physician assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions. This role is ideal for candidates with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Accompany the physician during patient visits to document medical notes, treatment plans and physician instructions. 
  • Assist patients with completing health history documentation.
  • Provide patient care assistance as needed. 
  • Work with physician to construct detailed, accurate notes and dictation on all patient encounters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR system.
  • Assist physician with administrative and clinical tasks as needed. 

Job Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred. 
  • Experience with medical coding is a plus.

Other Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong typing skills (minimum 50 WPM required).
