Cancer Foundations
There are several foundations in our communities that give back to our patients by offering support, making blankets or hats, or donating snacks and drinks for our patients to enjoy during their treatments. We are so thankful for each one of the foundations for cancer care in Missouri and Kansas. The work they do for our patients and community is priceless.
JUNE BUG CANCER FOUNDATION
The June Bug Cancer Foundation helps ease the burden of cancer so local patients can focus on their treatment and health.
The June Bug Cancer Foundation was established in 2007 by employees of Central Care Cancer Center in Emporia, in honor of patient June Monnard Sauder, who was nicknamed “June Bug”. The foundation is used to help ease the financial burden of local cancer patients, by helping pay various expenses including home, transportation, lodging, food and acquisition of medical equipment. Money is raised through donations, fundraising events, and memorials. The June Bug Cancer Foundation is a non-endowed, non-profit 501c3 organization under The Emporia Community Foundation.
