Medical Physicist

Central Care Cancer Center has an immediate opportunity for a full-time AMP Eligible Medical Physicist. This position will provide coverage for two radiation oncology departments in Newton and Salina, KS. Central Care Physicists are responsible for ensuring and overseeing the highest standards of care through physics services. Modalities include external beam, SRS/SBRT and HDR.

The primary department has a Varian accelerator, GammaMed iX HDR unit, Eclipse V11 TPS with Brachy Vision and ARIA V11 EMR. Patient load is approximately 10 patients per day plus HDR. The right candidate must have experience in HDR and be immediately available for addition to the license as an AMP.

The secondary department works with two Varian accelerators, TruBeam and Trilogy, iPlan and Aria. This department is staffed by a full-time board certified physicist and has a robust stereotactic program for both SRS and SBRT treatments. Patient load is approximately 40 patients per day.

Weekly travel will be required between the two centers. Occasionally, additional travel may be required to participate in physicist peer review activities and/or coverage situations.

  • HDR experience
  • Experience with Varian's HDR solution is a plus
