Central Care Cancer Center is dedicated to providing cancer care to patients in rural communities. We are currently seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our billing team in Salina, KS

As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play an important role in the billing department, working closely with the clinical staff to ensure timely insurance authorizations. We are seeking candidates with excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills, who can handle multiple assignments simultaneously while demonstrating attention to detail and good judgment.

Schedule
8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday schedule

Essential Functions

• Verify patient insurance benefits, eligibility, and demographic information accurately.
• Submit, obtain, and track insurance authorizations.
• Assist patients in understand their insurance coverage and financial obligations.
• Review patient accounts and set up patient payment agreements when necessary.
• Support optimal insurance coverage.
• Perform medical billing functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Identify and obtain other forms of financial assistance to ease patient financial burden.

Job Experience

• Minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Minimum 1 year prior authorization experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health-care payment methodology including Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs and secondary payers.
• Oncology-related experience, medical billing experience, and familiarity with EMR systems are considered a plus.
