Prior Authorization Specialist

Central Care Cancer Center is hiring for a full time Prior Authorization Specialist to work in their Newton, KS clinic.

The Prior Authorization Specialist (Financial Counselor) will work closely with the clinical staff and billing department to assist patients with insurance approvals, financial assistance and more. Candidates must have excellent communication, organization and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Candidates should demonstrate good judgement as well as attention to detail while working well with a team.

  • Patient referrals
  • Insurance authorizations
  • Patient financial counseling
  • Medical billing functions

Desired Degree

Associates Degree preferred

Job Experience

  • 1 - 2 years' medical office experience required
  • 1 - 2 years' medical billing experience required
  • Insurance experience and general knowledge required
  • Oncology related experience a plus

Other Qualifications

  • CPC a plus
  • ​Computer skills - minimum 2 years' experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
