Scribe

Central Care Cancer Center is hiring a dedicated and detail oriented scribe to join our oncology team in Bolivar, MO. This role serves as a physician partner by providing administrative and clinical support to enhance patient care. The ideal candidate will work closely with our medical oncologist and oncology staff, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication. 

Essential Functions

  • Accompany the medical provider during patient exams and accurately document patient history, exams, assessments, diagnostic results, medical procedures and treatment plans into the electronic medical record (EMR). 
  • Input orders as direct by the physician including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
  • Prepare, assemble, and update medical records as instructed by the physician.
  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed and approved by the physician.
  • Serve as a liaison between the patient and physician, facilitating clear communication.
  • Educate patients on treatment procedures and reinforce physician instructions.  
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 1-year medical experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment, decision making, and problem solving skills.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute (WPM).
