CJBCC “Leave Cancer in the Dust” Car Show Scheduled for Oct. 6

The Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center is working hard to “Leave Cancer in the Dust” by hosting its Fourth Annual Car Show, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 6. The car show will be held at the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center on the campus of Citizens Memorial Hospital.

All proceeds raised from the event will directly benefit local patients of the cancer center by assisting them with areas of expenses related to their cancer treatment care. Expense items vary from help with insurance co-pays, gas vouchers, auto repairs, utility assistance and other additional circumstances of need.

All race cars, rat rods, hot rods, street machines, trucks and motorcycles can be registered for the show. Trophies will be awarded in 15 categories: Original Restored 1900 – 1948; Original Restored 1949 - Present; Unrestored 1900 – 1948; Unrestored 1949 – Present; Street Rod 1900 – 1948; Street Machine 1949 – Present; Truck 1900 – Present; Rat Rod; Best Ford; Best GM; Best Chrysler/Dodge; Best Import; Motorcycles; Tim Looney Memorial Award; and the Don & Carrie J. Babb Choice Award.

To register for the Car Show, pick up a form at CJBCC or register online at https://conta.cc/2JwgQBk. The $20 pre-registration fee runs through Sept. 28. The first 25 registrants will receive a complimentary “Crusin’ for Cancer” hat.

Registration also will be held from 10-11 a.m. the day of the Car Show and will cost $25 to enter.

Cancer Community Support Alliance will be available during the event to answer questions people may have.
